The Minitrix 16489 locomotive is a real highlight of American railroad history in N scale. The Union Pacific Railroad class 3700 "Challenger" heavy freight steam locomotive was used in the 1950s and is one of the most powerful steam locomotives in the world. This exclusive model is being released as a one-off series in cooperation with Broadway Limited Imports and depicts the locomotive with the road number 3704 in its oil tender conversion version.

Top technical performance in model form

Equipped with an articulated bogie that can negotiate curves and a controlled high-performance drive, six axles are driven powerfully. Traction tires ensure maximum tractive force - ideal for heavy US freight train traffic. The model is suitable for a minimum radius of R2a (261.8 mm), but larger radii are recommended for optimum driving characteristics.

Digital sound, light and smoke

An integrated digital decoder with mfx and DCC compatibility offers extensive sound functions. The standard smoke generator, the direction-dependent headlights, illuminated number boards and the digitally switchable driver's cab lighting ensure an impressive overall appearance. All lighting elements work with warm white LEDs for authentic illumination.
