The Minitrix 16711 represents a modern class 112 electric locomotive of the Deutsche Bahn AG (DB AG) in operating condition around 2021. The locomotive with the road number 112 118-5 was built starting in 1992 and is used primarily in passenger train service. This model in N scale (1:160) is a new design with numerous digital functions and fine detailing.
The body and locomotive body are made of die-cast zinc, which gives the model a realistic weight and excellent running characteristics. The motor with flywheel drives all four axles, with traction tires providing additional traction. This makes the locomotive ideal for use with modern passenger trains on your layout.
The locomotive is equipped with a digital decoder (mfx/DCC compatible) and a sound generator that provides extensive sound functions. The lighting is provided by warm white LEDs for the headlights and tail lights, which change depending on the direction of travel. The cab lighting can also be switched digitally. The headlights can be switched off as required - ideal for realistic operational representations.
Other features include attached grab irons and kinematics for close couplers, allowing the locomotive to be used with prototypical car spacing. The length over buffers is 104 mm, which gives the model an impressive appearance on the N layout.
