The 16834 Vectron DM BR 248 from BUG Verkehrsbau SE brings the latest railroad technology to your N-gauge layout. As a dual-power locomotive of the latest generation, it combines electric and diesel drive technology in one model - based on the Vectron product family from Siemens. With the road number 248 024-2, it represents the operating status from the year 2023 and impresses with an extensive equipment package of light and sound functions as well as high attention to detail.
The model is equipped with a digital decoder and a sound generator for mfx and DCC operation. The motor with flywheel mass ensures smooth running, four axles are driven, supported by traction tires. The locomotive housing and the locomotive body are made of robust die-cast zinc and guarantee a high level of stability with precise detailing. The locomotive measures 124.8 mm over buffers and is therefore ideal for realistic train compositions on N-gauge layouts.
The extensive lighting functions are a particular highlight: The direction of travel-dependent three-light headlights and the two red tail lights can be switched both conventionally and digitally. The headlights can be switched off separately on locomotive sides 1 and 2, as can the double A light when the headlights are deactivated on both sides. The main headlights, cab lighting, special shunting signals and wrong way lighting can also be controlled digitally. The lighting is provided by maintenance-free warm white and red LEDs.
As a dual-power locomotive, the Vectron BR 248 represents the future of rail freight transport. The model faithfully reproduces this technical innovation and allows it to be used in modern Era VI layouts and operating scenarios. The separately enclosed attachable brake hoses offer additional options for individual design.
The Vectron DM BR 248 is a masterpiece of modern model railroad technology: rich in detail, powerful and full of functions. It is ideal for model railroaders who place the highest demands on technology, design and prototype fidelity - a real highlight for every contemporary N-gauge layout.
