The Minitrix 18269 N "Coke Transport" Part 3 car set is a high-quality addition for model railroaders who would like to enrich their collection with authentic freight cars from the German Federal Railroad (DB) from Era III. This set consists of three detailed self-unloading cars that were specially developed for the transportation of coke and reflect the operating condition of the 1960s.
The cars included in the set are replicas of the four-axle type Fad-50 self-unloading cars, also known as OOt-z. These wagons were mainly used by the Deutsche Bundesbahn to transport bulk goods that were not sensitive to moisture, such as coke. Characteristic of these wagons are the two unloading flaps on each long side and the brakeman's platform at the front. They are also equipped with Minden-Dorstfeld type bogies, which are known for their reliability and smooth running.
Era III covers the period from 1949 to 1970 and represents an important phase in the history of the German Federal Railroad. This period saw the reconstruction and modernization of the rail network after the Second World War. Freight traffic played a central role in the economic miracle era, with cars such as the Fad-50 being essential for the efficient transportation of raw materials.
Minitrix is a brand of Gebr. Märklin & Cie. GmbH and stands for high-quality model railroads on a scale of 1:160 (N gauge). The models are characterized by attention to detail, high-quality materials and excellent running characteristics. With the "Kokstransport" Part 3 car set, Minitrix is offering another authentic reproduction of historic freight cars that will enhance any model railroad layout.
The cars are painted in an authentic brown color that is typical for freight cars of the German Federal Railroad in Era III. The lettering is precisely applied and corresponds to the prototypes from the 1960s. The detailed reproduction of the brakeman's platform and the unloading flaps underlines the high degree of model fidelity.
Minitrix stands for durable and robust models. The use of high-quality materials and precise workmanship guarantee a long service life and reliable operation on the layout. The carriages run smoothly and safely on the tracks and are therefore ideal for long-term use.
The wagon set can be ideally combined with other Era III freight wagons to recreate realistic freight trains. Matching locomotives, such as the class 50 or 44, complete the ensemble and ensure a harmonious overall picture on the model railway layout. Minitrix also offers an extensive range of tracks and accessories to customize the layout.
The Minitrix 18269 N "Coke Transport" Part 3 car set is an excellent choice for model railroaders who value authenticity and high quality. The detailed reproduction of the German Federal Railroad self-unloading cars from Era III makes it possible to realistically depict historic freight trains. The robust construction and excellent running characteristics make this set a worthwhile investment for any N-gauge layout. We recommend this car set without reservation for all fans of Era III and German freight traffic.
