The Minitrix 18963 is a detailed model of the Ci (Bay 10) passenger car as it was built by the Royal Bavarian State Railways starting in 1910 and later used by the Deutsche Reichsbahn Gruppenverwaltung Bayern (DRB GV Bay.). In the operating condition shown around the 1920s, the car was stationed in the home district of Munich - a classic representative of Bavarian branch line service in Era II.
Typical of the class Ci coaches was the pure 3rd class division with simple equipment - ideally suited for local transport tasks on rural routes and in conjunction with Bavarian steam locomotives.
The car has a close coupler linkage with integrated kinematics for realistic train formations in accordance with the NEM standard. This allows tight car transitions and reliable operation even on tight radii. The length over buffers is 74 mm - perfect for compact layouts in N scale.
The color scheme and lettering correspond to Era II and are true to the original. The window layout, roof shape and running gear reflect the typical features of the "Bay 10" design. This makes the model an ideal fit for historical train compositions of the 1920s and early 1930s.
The Minitrix 18963 is intended for model railroaders with a focus on southern German railroad history of Era II, especially fans of the Bavarian state railroads and the early DR era. Also ideal as a supplement car to the BCi (Bay 10) or the R 3/3 steam locomotive.
