PIKO 21024 - H0 Class E 669.1 electric locomotive, ČSD, Era IV

With the Piko 21024, PIKO brings an impressively realized six-axle electric locomotive of the E 669.1 series to your H0 layout - in the typical design of the Československé státní dráhy (ČSD) for Era IV. The model is based on the robust locomotive series from Škoda, which was used for heavy freight traffic in the north and east of Czechoslovakia - powerful, durable and technically mature.

The E 669.1 was created in the early 1960s from two prototypes of the E 660.0 class, with the aim of covering heavy freight trains with just one locomotive in future - instead of using complex double traction. A total of 150 locomotives of this series were built. Five machines are still in use today as push-pull locomotives under ČD Cargo - proof of their longevity and reliability.

Technology & digital preparation

The locomotive is equipped with an NEM 658 PluX22 interface and is therefore ideally prepared for digital retrofitting. Retrofitting with sound and a large loudspeaker (recommended: PIKO decoder #56645) is also possible without any problems. The digital switching of the driver's cab and engine room lighting ensures a particularly realistic representation of operation.

Lighting & Functions

The locomotive has a white/red light change depending on the direction of travel, driver's desk lighting and optional digitally switchable lighting in the driver's cab and engine room (with decoder operation). This underlines the high-quality implementation of this model in everyday use on your layout.

Roof equipment & details

The locomotive is equipped with two finely detailed metal pantographs. The roof garden is completely and realistically reproduced. Rail scrapers, prototypical interior fittings for the driver's cabs and engine room as well as fine engravings on the body round off the harmonious overall picture.

Technical data & compatibility

With a length over buffers of 216 mm and a minimum radius of 358 mm, the model is suitable for all standard H0 layouts. The locomotive has NEM shafts with close coupler link and can therefore be coupled reliably with all standard wagons.
