PIKO 21028 - H0 Class 181 electric locomotive, ČD, Era V with sound

With the Piko 21028, PIKO brings the digital sound version of the powerful six-axle electric locomotive BR 181 of the Czech Railways (ČD) for Era V to the H0 tracks. This impressive model is the contemporary conversion of the former class E 669.1 - known for its tractive power in heavy freight traffic.

The locomotives were built in the early 1960s on the basis of the E 660.0 prototypes and were supplied in large numbers by Škoda to ČSD. Their goal: to transport heavy freight trains without double traction in the future. After the dissolution of Czechoslovakia in 1993, the entire series was transferred to the ČD fleet as the 181. Some machines are still in use at ČD Cargo today - as reliable push-pull locomotives.

Factory digitized with sound

The model is equipped with a PluX22 sound decoder and offers PIKO TrainSound® onboard - for a realistic sound image with traction motor noises, compressor, fan, brakes and more. The locomotive is fully digitized and ready for immediate use on DCC systems.

Lighting & digital features

Equipped with direction of travel-dependent light change (white/red), digitally switchable cab lighting, engine room lighting and driver's desk lighting, this model offers an impressive lighting concept - controllable via your digital control center.

Roof garden & detailed equipment

The detailed roof garden is equipped with two finely finished metal pantographs. Rail clearances, realistic interior fittings for the driver's cabs and engine room as well as fine engravings underline the high-quality overall impression.

Technical data & compatibility

The locomotive measures 216 mm over buffers and can be used on all H0 layouts with a minimum radius of 358 mm. NEM shafts with close coupler link ensure reliable connections with other vehicles - even in tight radii.
