PIKO 21029 - H0 Class 181 electric locomotive, STK, Era VI

With the Piko 21029, PIKO brings a modern version of the well-known six-axle class 181 electric locomotive in the attractive livery of the Polish company STK (Spółka Transportu Kolejowego) for epoch VI to the H0 layout. The prototype originally comes from the proven ČSD series E 669.1 and is still in use today in several variants - also internationally.

The locomotives were supplied by Škoda to the Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD) from the 1960s and were mainly used for heavy freight traffic. After 1993, ČD took over the locomotives as the 181 series. Some units were sold on, including to private railroad companies such as STK or LOTOS in Poland, where they are still in reliable service today.

Digitally prepared & sound-capable

The model is equipped with a NEM 658 PluX22 interface and is therefore ideally prepared for retrofitting with a digital or sound decoder (e.g. PIKO #56645). There is also sufficient space for the largest possible loudspeaker.

Lighting & digital features

The model offers a white/red light change depending on the direction of travel, driver's desk lighting and digitally switchable driver's cab and engine room lighting that can be retrofitted. These functions can be controlled with a suitable decoder and offer an impressive look - especially at night.

Roof garden & detailing

The locomotive is equipped with a realistically reproduced roof garden including two delicately crafted metal scissor pantographs. Other highlights include rail scrapers, a detailed interior in the driver's cab and engine room as well as finely crafted engravings on the body.

Technology & compatibility

With a length over buffers of 216 mm and a minimum radius of 358 mm, the model is perfectly suited for operation on all standard H0 layouts. NEM shafts with close coupler link ensure reliable coupling with standard wagons.

The scope of delivery includes the Piko 21029 electric locomotive BR 181 STK in DC version, with instructions and prepared for digital retrofitting - ideal for entry into Eastern European or international freight traffic.
