The Piko 21042 H0 Rh 1067 electric locomotive brings the rarity and elegance of the ÖBB class 1067 to your H0 model railroad layout. This electrically powered shunting locomotive was a technical innovation of its time and was used by the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) between 1961 and 1994. The prototype of the Piko Rh 1067 electric locomotive

With only five prototypes, the ÖBB 1067 series was an absolute rarity. These locomotives, built by the Jenbacher works, were equipped with a center cab and an innovative electro-hydraulic drive. They were mainly used for shunting services and were painted in fir green or blood orange.

Although the 1067 series was equipped with many technical innovations, numerous defects made series production impossible. The last active locomotive, the 1067.03, was taken out of service in 1994. Today, two examples are still preserved in the Knittelfeld and Ampflwang railroad museums.
