The prototype of the Piko Rh 1067 electric locomotive

The 1067 series of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) was truly unique in railroad history. Only five prototypes of these locomotives with electro-hydraulic drive were built between 1961 and 1994. The vehicles with a central driver's cab were mainly used in shunting services and were painted in fir green or blood orange.

Due to technical challenges, series production was not continued. The last active example, locomotive 1067.03, was taken out of service in 1994. Today, two locomotives can be admired in the Knittelfeld and Ampflwang railroad museums.
