With the Piko 21044, PIKO brings one of the most unusual and rarest electric locomotives of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) to the model tracks: the class 1067 in the blood orange color variant of Era IV. The locomotive, of which only five were built, is one of the most exotic in the Austrian fleet - its striking central driver's cab and electro-hydraulic drive make it a special eye-catcher.
Between 1961 and 1994, these locomotives - built by Jenbacher Werke - were used in shunting service. The design, reminiscent of a diesel locomotive, combined with electrical engineering made them unique, but also vulnerable. Only two locomotives are preserved in museums today. This model is a reminder of the rare class in its active heyday with ÖBB.
The orange paintwork is finely implemented, the lettering exactly matched to Era IV. The free-standing fan in the front end with transparent reproduction of the cooling system is particularly striking. The detailed running gear with add-on parts and metal scissor pantographs underline the high-quality impression.
Equipped with a NEM 658 PluX22 interface, the locomotive is prepared for the digital retrofitting of a sound decoder (recommended: PIKO decoder #56649). Retrofitting with loudspeakers is also possible without any problems.
The model has a three-light headlights with red marker lights that light up depending on the direction in analog and can be switched in digital operation. The driver's desk lighting is active in analog mode and can be controlled separately in digital mode. In addition, shunting light functions and the tail light can be switched off separately.
The locomotive measures 121 mm over buffers and can be used on all standard H0 layouts with a minimum radius of 358 mm. It can be easily coupled with an NEM shaft and close coupler link. Two traction tires ensure reliable traction during operation.
A track replica is included as a base plate for presentation purposes. Also included are brake lines, coupling hooks and a coupling cover as accessories - perfect for designing when the locomotive is at a standstill or on display.
The Piko 21044 Rh 1067 electric locomotive of the ÖBB in Era IV, in DC version, with extensive equipment and digital preparation is supplied.
Secure a model with collector's value with the Piko 21044 - rare, authentic, highly detailed.
