PIKO 21049 - H0 Electric locomotive Rh 1067, ÖBB, Era III, green, AC sound

The Piko 21049 is the AC version of the legendary ÖBB 1067 series in fir green Era III livery - fully equipped with a factory-fitted sound decoder. The electric locomotive with electro-hydraulic drive, of which only five were built, was a technical experiment that stands out due to its unusual design: the central driver's cab, diesel-like design and high susceptibility led to a short period of use between 1961 and 1994.

Built by Jenbacher Werke for shunting services, the locomotive is now a real rarity in Austria's railroad history. This green-painted version is an authentic model of the early period of use on the ÖBB - an enrichment for every Era III layout.

Digital & sound for Märklin drivers

This version is prepared for alternating current operation (AC) and is factory-equipped with a PluX22 sound decoder. PIKO TrainSound® onboard offers numerous realistic locomotive sounds: traction motor, fan, compressor, shunting sounds and more - ideal for digital operation on Märklin layouts.

Lighting & digital light functions

The model has a three-light headlights with red marker lights that automatically change over with the direction of travel in analog operation and can be individually switched digitally. This is supplemented by digitally switchable shunting light, headlights/tail lights that can be switched off and driver's desk and cab lighting.

Detailing & presentation

The cooling system in the front end is delicately reproduced with a free-standing fan wheel. The metal scissor pantograph is finely crafted and mounted without visible screws. The running gear has numerous free-standing add-on parts - including interior fittings. A track replica with accessories is included for collectors - ideal for showcase presentation.

Technical data & compatibility

The locomotive measures 121 mm over buffers and can be used on all H0 layouts with a minimum radius of 358 mm. It is fully compatible with Märklin couplers thanks to its NEM shaft and close coupler link.
