The Piko 21083 is a powerful-sounding AC version of the legendary Czechoslovakian class 110 shunting locomotive - formerly known as the S 458.0. This Era IV model comes in an authentic CSD design and is factory-equipped with a powerful PIKO sound decoder (PluX22) and a large loudspeaker. This means that the locomotive is immediately ready for digital AC operation on Märklin-compatible layouts.
From 1973 to 1983, the CSD procured a total of 74 of these locomotives for shunting and light line service under contact wire. The series was characterized by high reliability, sensitive control at low speeds and compact design - qualities that it still demonstrates today in use at CD and ZSSK Cargo.
The model has a factory-fitted PluX22 sound decoder which, in conjunction with a large-volume loudspeaker, provides a realistic sound image. From the starting sound and braking to the typical operating sound of the traction motors - all sound functions can be conveniently controlled digitally and ensure an impressive driving experience on AC systems.
The model has a white/red light change depending on the direction of travel and an illuminated driver's desk. The driver's cab lighting can also be switched separately in digital mode - perfect for authentic scenarios at night or in the engine shed. The LED technology used guarantees high luminosity and a long service life.
Highlights include a clear view through the driver's cab, finely engraved spring assemblies, grab rails, steps and the replica of the original aerial. In addition, heating plugs and a coupling hook are included as accessories, which further refine the model and complement it in line with the prototype.
With a compact length over buffers of 165 mm, the locomotive is ideal for smaller layouts or for use in station areas. The minimum radius of 358 mm allows flexible integration on all standard H0 AC tracks. The locomotive has NEM shafts with close coupler link and two traction tires for reliable traction.
The CSD class 210 was designed for precise shunting at railroad stations and light passenger traffic. After 1988 under the new designation BR 210, the machines were distributed to the successor companies CD and ŽSR in 1993. Many are still in operation today and are regarded as the epitome of long-lived Czechoslovakian locomotive technology of the 1970s.
The scope of delivery includes the Piko 21083 Class 110 CSD electric locomotive with built-in sound decoder, operating instructions and accessories for visual detailing. The model is fully digitized and ready for immediate use in the AC system.
This model is ideal for AC railroaders who want to combine Eastern European railroad history with modern digital technology. Whether in shunting, on transfer runs or in light line service - the locomotive cuts an authentic figure in any scenario.
Experience the variety of Czechoslovakian electric locomotive technology on your AC layout with the Piko 21083 BR 110 CSD with sound. Now available - for model railroaders with a demand for sound, technology and history!
