The Piko 21086 is the AC sound version of the proven Czech electric locomotive BR 210 - formerly S 458.0 - in the current version of the České dráhy (CD) for Era VI. This compact shunting locomotive was originally designed for shunting under contact wire and is still an integral part of the Czech railroads' fleet today.
Between 1973 and 1983, a total of 74 machines of this series were delivered to the former CSD. Its technical sophistication, coupled with precise controllability at low speeds, makes it an ideal locomotive for mainline operation and light line service. The current model conversion from PIKO offers excellent attention to detail, combined with the latest digital and sound technology for Märklin-compatible layouts.
The locomotive is prepared for 3-wire AC operation and is factory-fitted with a PIKO PluX22 sound decoder including a large loudspeaker. Typical locomotive sounds such as traction motor hums, brakes, fans or horns can be reproduced realistically and called up digitally - for an authentic driving experience in the AC system.
A white/red light change depending on the direction of travel ensures realistic representation in every driving situation. The driver's cab lighting can be switched digitally and complements the driver's desk, which is also illuminated - ideal for use at night or in the depot. The LED technology used stands for energy efficiency and durability.
The model has a clear view through the driver's cab, finely engraved spring assemblies, grab rails, steps and a replica roof aerial. Heating plugs and coupling hooks are included for further detailing. The design and printing are exact and prototypical - a real highlight in the field of Eastern European locomotives.
With a length over buffers of 165 mm, the locomotive is ideal for smaller layouts and station areas. The minimum radius of 358 mm enables versatile use. The NEM shafts with close coupler link guarantee safe coupling to common H0 wagons, two traction tires ensure reliable traction.
After the renaming to BR 210, the CD took over many of the locomotives into its fleet. Today, they are primarily used in shunting operations and on local transfer lines - especially in western and southern Bohemia. This model reflects the current design in Era VI and brings a piece of Czech railroad reality to your model railroad.
Included are the Piko 21086 electric locomotive BR 210 CD with sound, instructions and accessories for visual individualization. The locomotive is fully digitized and prepared for immediate use in the AC system.
The locomotive is aimed at demanding digital railroaders with the Märklin system who want to realistically represent Eastern European railroad themes or modern shunting scenarios. Compact, rich in detail and powerful sound - a real highlight for Era VI layouts.
