The Piko Vectron in the Správa železnic design represents one of the most modern locomotive concepts in Europe. This versatile model in H0 scale features the contemporary color scheme of the Czech railroad infrastructure company - a real eye-catcher on any Epoch VI layout.

Technology & design - Vectron character in model form

The locomotive is based on the successful Vectron from Siemens, which was developed as the successor to the EuroSprinter series. With an output of up to 6400 kW and a top speed of 200 km/h, the model can be used universally in both freight and passenger transport. The model has a metal single-arm pantograph and a modern, angular front section - typical of the Vectron.

Prototype: European all-rounder

Today, the Vectron is used by numerous railroad operators throughout Europe - from Scandinavia to south-eastern Europe. The version of the Správa železnic shown here is an example of the increasing use of modern traction on Eastern European tracks - as a traction reserve, maintenance locomotive or representative vehicle.

Use & expansion options

The model is designed for DC systems, runs safely on a minimum radius of 358 mm and can be digitally expanded via the NEM 658 PluX22 interface. The PIKO sound decoder #56544 can be retrofitted for even more reality. Thanks to the close coupler set, the locomotive is suitable for modern freight trains, passenger trains or institutional trains.
