With the Piko Rh 230 in the ČD Cargo version, one of the best-known Czech electric locomotives enters the H0 world. The beautifully shaped locomotive with the striking rounded driver's cabs is a real eye-catcher - and impresses with modern technology, fine detailing and optional digital equipment for Era VI.

Technology & equipment - digitally prepared and detailed

The model has two metal scissor pantographs, finely detailed bogies and transparent skylights in the engine room. The cab and engine room lighting can be controlled digitally when retrofitted with a PluX22 decoder. Thanks to the NEM shaft with close coupler link, the locomotive can be flexibly integrated into freight trains.

Prototype - Škoda 47E: Classics of the Eastern Bloc

The locomotives of the Škoda 47E series were delivered to the Czechoslovakian state railroad in the variants S 489 and S 499. Today, they are used by ČD Cargo under the class 230 - mainly for freight trains in southern and western Bohemia. Their characteristic appearance and high performance make them an icon of Eastern European railroad technology.

Operation & expansion

The locomotive is designed for DC systems with a minimum radius of 358 mm. The NEM 658 PluX22 interface makes it easy to retrofit a suitable PIKO sound decoder #56586, making the model an acoustic highlight on any modern layout with a Czech focus.
