The Piko Rh 240 ČD Cargo with factory-installed PluX22 sound decoder brings an impressive Škoda electric locomotive to your digital DC system. The characteristic round design and the locomotive body made entirely of glass fiber reinforced plastic make this model a special highlight for Eastern European railroad themes of Era VI.

Technology & sound - fully digitally equipped

The model is immediately ready for use in digital operation and offers realistic sound effects. Two finely crafted metal scissor pantographs, transparent skylights in the engine room and detailed bogies ensure a high degree of prototypical fidelity. The cab, engine room, and console lighting can be controlled digitally (PluX22).

Prototype: S 499 - The Rh 240 in the service of ČD Cargo

The S 499 was delivered to the Czechoslovak State Railroad (ČSD) starting in 1968 - a total of 145 locomotives were produced. Its innovative glass fiber reinforced locomotive body was a novelty at the time of construction. Today, many of these locomotives are in service with ČD Cargo as class 240 and reliably pull heavy freight trains through Bohemia and Moravia.

Compatibility & model railroad operation

The model is designed for use on all DC systems with a minimum radius of 358 mm. Digital control is via the NEM 658 PluX22 interface, the light changes in white/red depending on the direction of travel. A close coupler link ensures reliable train connections.
