The Piko BR 3193 from Stern & Hafferl combines modern traction and flexible power supply in an innovative AC version with factory-fitted PIKO sound decoder and mfx® compatibility. This model is based on the Siemens Vectron Dual Mode and represents the next step in modern railroad technology - ideal for Era VI.

Technology & sound - digital, hybrid, mfx®-compatible

Thanks to PIKO TrainSound® onboard, the locomotive delivers realistic sounds - from the start of the diesel engine to electric operation. The factory-fitted PluX22 sound decoder is mfx®-capable and is automatically recognized by compatible command stations. Digitally switchable cab, engine room and console lighting provide an authentic operating picture, supplemented by a freely rotating fan wheel, fine fan grilles and a metal scissor pantograph.

Prototype: Class 3193 - Vectron Dual Mode at Stern & Hafferl

The Siemens Vectron Dual Mode is known as the BR 248/249. The class 3193 version at Stern & Hafferl offers maximum flexibility with diesel and overhead line operation - ideal for lines that are not electrified throughout. This pioneering technology impresses with reduced emissions and versatile applications.

AC operation & model compatibility

Suitable for Märklin-compatible H0 track systems from a radius of 358 mm. Fully digitally controllable via the NEM 658 PluX22 interface. Coupling via NEM shaft with close coupler link guarantees smooth operation in mixed freight and local traffic.
