With the Piko class 146.2 in the design of Koleje Poland, PIKO is expanding its range of modern electric locomotives with an attractive variant for international use. The locomotive is based on the TRAXX 2 platform and brings the powerful appearance and technical advancement of the 185.2 series to the H0 DC layout - a highlight for modern Era VI private railway scenarios.

Technology & model design - TRAXX technology in its purest form

The locomotive is equipped with two single-arm pantographs made of metal and has smooth side surfaces - typical of the current design of modern locomotives. The headlights change in white/red depending on the direction of travel. The model is equipped with an NEM 652 interface for digital operation and can be retrofitted with the PIKO sound decoder #56613.

Prototype: Class 146.2 - Comfort and performance in local transportation

The class 146.2 is based on the class 185.2, but is designed for higher acceleration and modern passenger operation. With an optimized locomotive body and revised technology, it offers increased safety and reliability. In Poland, it is used by various private railroad companies - ideal for realistic international model railroad scenarios.

Compatibility & possible uses

The locomotive is suitable for all H0 DC tracks with a minimum radius of 358 mm. With an NEM shaft and close coupler link, it can be flexibly fitted into regional or long-distance trains - it can also be combined with double-decker coaches or classic passenger coaches.
