Description

Classic German Federal Railroad with full sound - Piko 21774 H0 Class 110 DB Ep. IV electric locomotive blue/beige with sound

The class 110 of the German Federal Railroad is an icon of electric train traffic of the post-war period - known for its reliability and versatility. With the Piko 21774, PIKO presents an impressive novelty for 2026: The blue/beige painted Era IV electric locomotive appears here in a factory-equipped version with sound. This high-quality version not only brings visual authenticity, but also a realistic sound image to your H0 model railway layout.

The model is a detailed reproduction of the well-known appearance of the German Federal Railroad in the 1970s and early 1980s. The classic blue/beige two-tone paint scheme is carefully implemented and complemented by comprehensive technical equipment - including a built-in PIKO sound decoder with a large loudspeaker for a particularly intense sound experience.

Digital technology & sound experience

The locomotive is equipped with a PluX22 sound decoder ex works. In conjunction with the integrated loudspeaker, the model produces realistic locomotive sounds that raise the operating experience to a new level. Driving noises, brake squeal or signal horn - everything is digitally switchable and perfectly matched to model operation. The locomotive is fully digitally controllable and designed for direct current operation.

Lighting and technical details

The digitally switchable LED lighting in the driver's cab and engine room is a particular highlight. The locomotive also has a white/red light change depending on the direction of travel, which is also controlled via the decoder. Two traction tires ensure reliable traction in train operation - even with longer or heavier trains.

Running characteristics and compatibility

With a clearance of 190 mm, the model is ideal for use on all H0 track systems with a minimum radius of 358 mm. The couplers are designed according to NEM and equipped with close coupler link, which allows a prototypical wagon connection and close wagon spacing.

Prototype and area of use

In Era IV, the class 110 was the backbone of the German Federal Railroad's electric passenger service. It was used in local traffic, express trains and InterCity services. The color variant shown here was widespread during this time and is exemplary for the typical look of the DB trains of the 70s and 80s.

Scope of delivery

The locomotive is supplied with a factory-installed sound decoder and large loudspeaker. Also included are detailed operating instructions and accessories for individual detailing.

Target group & possible uses

This model is aimed at ambitious model railroaders, collectors and Era IV fans who place the highest demands on their vehicles in terms of both sound and appearance. Thanks to factory-fitted sound and digital lighting, the locomotive is immediately ready for use in digital H0 operation.
