Description

Soundstrong Federal Railroad Model - Piko 21775 H0 Electric Locomotive BR 110 DB Ep. IV blue/beige (AC)

The BR 110 electric locomotive is one of the most striking vehicles of the German Federal Railroad and shaped the image of passenger transport in Era IV. The Piko 21775 is a new printed version of this classic - in the characteristic blue/beige color scheme and specially designed for AC operation. Equipped with a factory-fitted PIKO sound decoder including a large loudspeaker, this model delivers a realistic sound experience straight from the packaging.

As a 2026 novelty, the locomotive impresses with its authentic design, modern digital features and high level of detail. The model is perfect for collectors and model railroaders who want to combine classic DB vehicles with the latest technology - in the proven AC version.

Digital technology & AC sound equipment

The Piko 21775 is designed for 3-wire alternating current (AC) operation and is factory-equipped with a PluX22 sound decoder. The built-in loudspeaker provides powerful sound and makes typical operating noises such as motor running, signal horn and brake squeal come to life true to the original. All sound and light functions can be switched digitally - ideal for use on modern AC digital systems.

Lighting & technical highlights

The model has white/red LED lighting depending on the direction of travel as well as digitally switchable driver's cab and engine room lighting. These functions ensure a high degree of faithfulness to the prototype and create an atmospheric picture on the layout, especially when running at night. Two traction tires guarantee stable traction - even under load.

Running characteristics & model railroad compatibility

With a length over buffers of 190 mm and a minimum radius of 358 mm, the locomotive is ideally suited for all standard H0 AC layouts. The coupling system with NEM shaft and close coupler link allows close car routing and safe coupling even in tight radii.

Prototype from Era IV

The blue/beige color scheme was a typical appearance of the German Federal Railroad in Era IV. At this time, the class 110 was used in local and long-distance service throughout Germany. The model authentically reproduces this condition and is ideal for depicting everyday DB traffic in the 1970s and 80s.

Scope of delivery

The scope of delivery includes the digitized class 110 electric locomotive with sound, operating instructions and accessories for individual detailing. The decoder is already installed at the factory.

Target group & intended use

The model is aimed at demanding model railroaders with AC systems who value vehicles with a powerful sound and true to the original. Thanks to digitally switchable lighting, authentic sound and classic design, this model is ideal for all those who want to bring the flair of Era IV to life on their layout.
