PIKO 21788 - H0 Class 139 electric locomotive in green, DB, Era IV

The Piko 21788 is a detailed print version of the proven class 139 electric locomotive of the German Federal Railroad. The locomotive is designed in the classic green color scheme of Era IV and is therefore an indispensable vehicle for all those who are dedicated to the railroad operations of the 1970s and early 1980s. This locomotive was versatile in freight and passenger traffic - and this makes it the perfect all-rounder on the layout in the model.

Technology & digital retrofit options

The model is supplied in a DC version and is analog ex works. Thanks to the integrated PluX22 interface in accordance with NEM 658, a digital or sound decoder (e.g. PIKO #56549) can be easily retrofitted. Two traction tires ensure reliable traction - even with long train sets or inclines on the layout.

Lighting & additional functions

The visual equipment includes a direction of travel-dependent light change in white/red using LED technology as well as digitally switchable driver's cab lighting. The model also has digitally switchable engine room lighting that can be individually controlled with a built-in decoder - a special highlight when operating in a staging yard or at night.

Dimensions & track compatibility

The locomotive has a length over buffers of 190 mm and is suitable for radii from 358 mm. Thanks to the NEM shaft and close coupler link, it can be combined flexibly and safely with all standard Era IV cars - whether in local traffic, freight traffic or express train operation.

The green livery of the class 139 was typical of many DB locomotives in the 1970s. The model reflects this era realistically and is ideal for use in historical train scenarios of Era IV.
