With the Piko 21809, PIKO presents a detailed version of the legendary Austrian electric locomotive Rh 1110.0 of the ÖBB - a classic of the Alpine Republic in the typical design of Era IV. This locomotive was the backbone of electric train operation in Austria for many decades and proved its worth in both passenger and freight traffic.
The Rh 1110.0 is one of the well-known ÖBB multi-purpose locomotives and was used on many main lines from the 1950s onwards. The model in the Era IV version offers an authentic appearance with technical preparation for digital operation - ideal for Austrian railroad scenes of the 1970s and 1980s.
The locomotive is intended for direct current operation and has a digital interface in accordance with NEM 658 (PluX22). It is prepared for retrofitting a digital and sound decoder, such as the PIKO sound decoder #56563. The installation of a large-volume loudspeaker is also provided - for a realistic sound experience in digital operation.
The model offers a direction of travel-dependent light change in white/red with energy-saving LED technology. In digital mode, the driver's cab lighting can also be switched separately - perfect for night-time driving or scenes in the depot.
With a length over buffers of 205 mm, the locomotive is ideally suited for operation on all standard H0 track systems. The minimum radius is 358 mm, which also allows it to be used on compact layouts. The locomotive is equipped with an NEM shaft and close coupler link, which enables a reliable connection with standard wagons.
The Rh 1110.0 was a real all-rounder for the ÖBB. It was used for both passenger and freight traffic and was used on many main lines in Austria - especially on the Alpine routes. The PIKO model realistically reflects this area of use and is ideal for Era IV layouts with a focus on Austrian railroad history.
The scope of delivery includes the Piko 21809 electric locomotive Rh 1110.0 ÖBB in direct current version, operating instructions and accessories for visual refinement. The locomotive is analog ex works and prepared for digital and sound operation.
The model is aimed at model railroaders with a preference for classic ÖBB locomotives and Era IV scenarios. The digital preparation makes it suitable for beginners to digital operation as well as for discerning collectors.
Experience Austrian railroad history with the Piko 21809 Rh 1110.0 of the ÖBB. Now available - realistic, detailed and ready for digital preparation!
