With the Piko 21825, model railroaders receive a fully digitized 5-car class 442 "Talent 2" electric multiple unit in the eye-catching paint scheme of the Rostock S-Bahn in Era VI. This modern DB AG vehicle has been in nationwide service since 2011 and embodies the image of contemporary German local transport. The variant from PIKO not only offers visual precision, but also acoustic reality thanks to the factory-installed sound decoder.
The train impresses with a precisely reproduced front design, detailed bogie covers and a realistic roof section. Despite its drive, the car body remains almost completely visible - a plus point in terms of faithfulness to the prototype and model construction quality.
Equipped with a factory-fitted 8-pole PIKO sound decoder, the multiple unit offers a wide range of functions. Typical sounds such as starting, doors closing, fans running and much more are reproduced true to the original. All functions can be conveniently controlled via your digital central unit - for a sonorous driving experience on your DC system.
A direction-dependent light change in white/red is fitted as standard. The lighting is based on energy-saving LED technology. Interior lighting is not prepared at the factory, but can be retrofitted if you have some experience. A special coupling for multiple traction is included for operational use - perfect for the interaction of several Talent 2 trains.
With an impressive length over buffers of 1002 mm, the multiple unit is ideally suited for main line operation on larger H0 layouts. The minimum radius is 358 mm, which means that it can also be used on medium-sized layouts. The model is equipped with an NEM shaft and close coupler link. Four traction tires ensure stable traction even with longer trains.
The class 442 vehicles are an integral part of DB AG's modern regional transportation. In the Rostock S-Bahn version, they serve connections around the Baltic coast and are a familiar sight in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The model allows a true-to-original realization of these current areas of operation in Era VI.
The scope of delivery includes the 5-car class 442 837 electric multiple unit of the Rostock S-Bahn with factory-fitted sound decoder, operating instructions and a special coupling for multiple traction. The train is fully digitized and immediately ready for operation in the DC system.
The model is aimed at demanding digital railroaders with an interest in current DB local traffic. The combination of sound, design and length makes the multiple unit ideal for modern layouts with a focus on regional traffic in northern Germany.
Bring the modern everyday life of the Rostock S-Bahn to your layout with the Piko 21825 BR 442 with sound. Now available - digital, detailed and full of sound for the latest generation of local transport!
