The Piko 21830 is a striking variant of the modern Vectron locomotive in the design of the Portuguese railroad company Medway. The class 7193 locomotive has the current appearance of Era VI and is an attractive highlight for model railroaders who want to recreate European freight traffic with private operators.
Medway is one of the most important logistics and rail transport providers on the Iberian Peninsula. The Vectron locomotives are mainly used there for international freight transportation. With the PIKO model, this modern operating reality is transferred to a scale of 1:87 with technical sophistication and true to the original.
The locomotive is designed for DC operation and has a PluX22 interface in accordance with NEM 658, making it ideal for retrofitting a digital or sound decoder - such as the PIKO sound decoder #56544. There is also space for a large-volume loudspeaker for a rich sound.
A white/red light change depending on the direction of travel is integrated as standard and uses LED technology. This ensures clear, long-lasting and energy-efficient illumination - true to the original in both day and night operation. The locomotive has two traction tires for stable traction during operation.
With a length over buffers of 218 mm, the class 7193 is ideally suited for use on main lines and large track systems. The minimum radius of 358 mm allows flexible use even on medium-sized layouts. The locomotive is equipped with an NEM shaft and close coupler link and can be easily integrated into freight train sets.
The Vectron series stands for modern multi-system technology in European rail transportation. Medway uses these powerful machines for cross-border freight transportation, especially between Portugal and Spain. With this model variant, international operating scenarios and current logistics traffic can be realistically implemented in the model.
The scope of delivery includes the Piko 21830 electric locomotive BR 7193 Vectron Medway in DC version, operating instructions and accessories for visual refinement. The locomotive is analog ex works, but can be retrofitted fully digitally.
The model is aimed at model railroaders who want to realistically represent international freight traffic with current private railroads on their layouts. Thanks to its digital preparation, high level of detailing and technical reliability, this model is the perfect choice for modern Era VI layouts with a European logistics focus.
Bring a piece of international railroad technology into your H0 program with the Piko 21830 BR 7193 Medway. Secure it now - modern, versatile and digitally retrofittable!
