The Piko Rh 500 of the NS brings a particularly striking locomotive of Dutch railroad history to your H0 DC layout. The three-axle diesel locomotive was taken over from British stocks after the Second World War and developed into one of the most reliable shunting vehicles of the Dutch State Railways - now as a new model for Era III.
The model has detailed cab equipment, free-standing mounted grab irons and ladders as well as prototypical headlights. The cab lighting can be controlled digitally if a PluX22 decoder is retrofitted. Driver's desk lighting is also integrated. The white/red light change depending on the direction of travel rounds off the appearance.
The first ten locomotives in this series (501-510) were taken over by the British military after 1945 and proved their worth as shunting locomotives. Due to their reliability, the NS increased the fleet to a total of 45 locomotives. Over the years, they were repainted several times and were in active service until the 1970s. Four locomotives have been preserved in museums.
The model is suitable for DC systems with a minimum radius of 358 mm. A sound decoder can be retrofitted via the NEM 658 PluX22 interface. The locomotive is equipped with an NEM shaft and close coupler link - perfect for authentic shunting and branch line operation.
For fans of Dutch railroad history, museum railway fans, collectors of Era III and anyone who would like to use a shunting locomotive with a strong character and a historical background on their layout.
Get the Piko Rh 500 of the NS - novelty 2025 with a new design, digital retrofit option and authentic design for Era III!
