With the Piko 22023 H0 diesel locomotive D.445, Piko is launching an authentic replica of one of the best-known Italian diesel locomotives in a version specially designed for AC current. The D.445 series was developed for mixed operation and was used throughout Italy for passenger and freight traffic. The model impresses with a prototypical realization, a detailed interior and numerous filigree elements such as the moving fan wheels under finely etched grilles.

Detailed realization of the third series

The model faithfully reproduces the third series of the D.445. The green bad weather signal at the front, typical of this series, is particularly striking. The excellent paintwork and true-to-original lettering ensure a realistic appearance. The model thus brings a piece of Italian railroad history to the H0 model railroad layout.

Factory-equipped with Piko sound decoder and mfx® support

The Piko 22023 diesel locomotive D.445 is already factory-equipped with a powerful Piko sound decoder, which enables numerous digital functions. In addition to realistic sound effects, the driver's cab and engine room lighting can also be switched digitally. The decoder bears the "fits mfx®" quality mark, which confirms its unrestricted compatibility with the Märklin mfx® system. This means that all digital functions can be used optimally on Märklin digital command stations.

Perfect for AC systems - compatibility & expansion options

The model is specially designed for operation on AC systems and has an NEM 658 PluX22 interface. The locomotive is suitable for H0 track systems with a minimum radius of 358 mm and, with its length over buffers of 162 mm, fits perfectly with Italian wagon trains.
