Piko 22062 H0 Diesellok BR 215, DB, Ep. IV, DC-Sound Product Details

Description

PIKO 22062 - H0 Diesel locomotive BR 215, DB, Era IV with sound

With the Piko 22062, PIKO presents the sound version of the BR 215 diesel-hydraulic locomotive in the classic version of the German Federal Railroad (DB) for Era IV. Equipped with a factory-installed PSD XP sound decoder, this model impresses with powerful technology, prototypical detailing and an authentic appearance - ideal for main and branch line operation from the 1970s onwards.

The class 215 was built between 1968 and 1971 as a versatile locomotive for passenger and freight traffic. Based on the V-160 family, it was equipped with a steam heating system and auxiliary diesel for battery charging, among other things - ideal for use in front of non-electrically heated passenger coaches. Some locomotives of this series were later converted to the class 218 or 225 - proof of the future-proof design.

Sound ex works - digital & fully equipped

Thanks to the PIKO XP sound decoder (PluX22), the model offers a comprehensive sound experience: realistic diesel engine start, driving and braking noises, signal horn, compressor and other functions can be precisely controlled digitally. The loudspeaker ensures a rich sound and optimum intelligibility during operation.

Lighting & digital functions

The locomotive is equipped with a white/red light change depending on the direction of travel as well as digitally switchable driver's cab lighting. The driver's desk is also illuminated - a detail that makes the locomotive particularly realistic in night operation or in the depot.

Attention to detail & design

The model exactly reproduces the original version with V16-cylinder diesel engine MB 16V 952. Fine spring assemblies, attached handles and steps, an additional exhaust for the auxiliary diesel and the reversing train socket round off the appearance harmoniously. Brake hoses and coupling hooks for optional self-assembly are included.

Technical data & compatibility

With a length over buffers of 188 mm and a minimum radius of 358 mm, the locomotive is suitable for use on all standard H0 layouts. Two traction tires ensure reliable traction. The locomotive is equipped with an NEM shaft and close coupler link - for safe train connections with all common types of wagons.

Prototype & area of use

The class 215 was used throughout Germany - especially on non-electrified lines in the south and west of Germany. It pulled local, express and high-speed trains as well as freight trains. The model is suitable for realistic Federal Railroad scenarios of the 1970s and 1980s.
