Piko 22064 H0 Diesellok BR 215, DB AG, Ep. V Product Details

Description

PIKO 22064 - H0 Class 215 diesel locomotive, DB AG, Era V

With the Piko 22064, PIKO brings the class 215 diesel locomotive in the Era V version to your H0 layout - equipped with all the typical features of the modernized vehicles of Deutsche Bahn AG. The locomotive is based on the proven V-160 family and offers the highest degree of prototypical fidelity, detailing and technical equipment - ideal for use in the 1990s and early 2000s.

Built between 1968 and 1971, the class 215 was a real universal genius on main and branch lines. Equipped with steam heating, auxiliary diesel for battery charging and the option of later conversion to class 218 or 225, it was extremely flexible. The model precisely reflects the Era V version with the DB-AG logo and discreetly modernized equipment.

Digitally prepared & sound-capable

The locomotive is equipped with a PluX22 digital interface in accordance with NEM 658 and is therefore prepared for the subsequent installation of a digital or sound decoder. The matching sound decoder is available under item number PIKO #56657 and provides true-to-original sound functions for the class 215.

Lighting & digital functions

The equipment includes a light change in white/red depending on the direction of travel as well as digitally switchable cab lighting. In addition, the driver's desk is illuminated, which ensures particularly harmonious operational representations when running at night or in depots.

Detailing & model look

The model impresses with fine spring assemblies, indicated steps and handles, as well as an additional auxiliary diesel tank with exhaust. The reversing train socket is also reproduced true to the original. Brake hoses and coupling hooks for self-assembly are included for a visually realistic design.

Technical data & compatibility

The locomotive has a length over buffers of 188 mm and is suitable for all standard H0 layouts with a minimum radius of 358 mm. Two traction tires ensure strong traction. Thanks to the NEM shaft with close coupler link, the locomotive can be safely integrated into any train composition.

Prototype & area of use

In Era V, the class 215 in a traffic red paint scheme with the DB-AG logo was used on many non-electrified routes - in passenger service, push-pull operation and freight service. The model is an ideal addition for layouts with a transition to the modern Federal Railroad era.

Scope of delivery

The Piko 22064 class 215 DB AG diesel locomotive in DC version, operating instructions and accessories such as brake hoses and coupling hooks are included in the scope of delivery. The locomotive is analog ex works, but can be fully digitally retrofitted.

Target group & application

The model is aimed at model railroaders with a focus on Era V, fans of classic DB diesel locomotives and anyone who wants to combine reliable technology with an elegant look. An ideal locomotive for universal use in model railroad operation.
