With the Piko 22065, PIKO brings the sound version of the BR 215 diesel locomotive in the typical design of Deutsche Bahn AG for Era V to your H0 tracks. The model impresses with high prototypical fidelity, a factory-installed PIKO XP sound decoder and fine detailing - ideal for diesel operation in the 1990s and early 2000s.

The class 215 was built as part of the V-160 family between 1968 and 1971 and proved itself over decades in mixed passenger and freight train service. With its steam heating system, auxiliary diesel for battery charging and the later option of converting it to the BR 218 or 225, it was designed with the future in mind. Even under DB AG, it remained an important part of the diesel operating network.

The PluX22 sound decoder is factory-fitted and offers an extensive sound spectrum: from the realistic starting of the diesel engine to driving and braking noises, signal horn, compressor and specific functions. The clear and powerful loudspeaker rounds off the digital experience perfectly.

Lighting & functions

The locomotive has a white/red light change depending on the direction of travel as well as digitally switchable driver's cab lighting. The driver's desk is also illuminated - particularly atmospheric for night operation or in the depot.

Prototypical detailing

The equipment includes fine spring assemblies, handles and steps, an extra tank and exhaust for the auxiliary diesel as well as a reversing train socket. Brake hoses and coupling hooks are included for visual refinement - for a realistic representation in every situation.

Technology & compatibility

With a length over buffers of 188 mm and a minimum radius of 358 mm, the locomotive is suitable for almost all H0 layouts. Two traction tires ensure optimum traction, the NEM shaft with close coupler link enables reliable train formation.
