With the Piko 22066, PIKO brings the AC sound version of the versatile BR 215 in the modern design of Deutsche Bahn AG to your H0 layout. Equipped with a factory-installed PSD XP sound decoder and numerous technical and visual highlights, this locomotive is a prime example of modern diesel operation in Era V.
The class 215 was designed as part of the V-160 locomotive family between 1968 and 1971 for use in passenger and freight train service. With a steam heating system, auxiliary diesel engine for battery charging and reversible train capability, it was a proven performer for decades - even under DB AG. Many machines were kept in active service until the 2000s or converted to the 225 series.
The PluX22 sound decoder is already installed at the factory and provides an authentic sound image: realistic diesel noises, signal horn, compressor, brake air noises and many other functions ensure a convincing driving experience on AC digital systems.
The locomotive has a white/red light change depending on the direction of travel as well as digitally switchable driver's cab lighting. The driver's desk is also illuminated, providing additional atmosphere for night runs or shunting operations in the depot.
The model shows the DB-AG version of the class 215 with an extra tank and exhaust for the auxiliary diesel, reversing train socket, fine spring assemblies, indicated handles and steps. Brake hoses and coupling hooks are included as accessories and enable a realistic representation in layout operation or in the display case.
The locomotive has a length over buffers of 188 mm and is suitable for all H0 layouts with a minimum radius of 358 mm. Two traction tires ensure reliable traction. The NEM shaft with close coupler link ensures compatible train formation with cars from all known manufacturers.
In Era V, the class 215 locomotives continued to be important service providers - in front of express, regional and freight trains. Whether in southern Germany, in the west or on non-electrified main lines - they were flexible all-rounders and can therefore also be used universally in the model.
The scope of delivery includes the Piko 22066 DB AG class 215 diesel locomotive with sound decoder, instructions and accessories such as brake hoses and coupling hooks for individual detailing.
Ideal for Märklin drivers and digital railroaders with a focus on the transition between the German Federal Railroad and DB AG. The locomotive offers a high degree of prototypical fidelity, combined with proven PIKO technology and a clear sound profile.
Bring diesel-hydraulic power to your tracks - with the Piko 22066 BR 215 in Era V. Secure it now - fully digitized, powerful sound and visually rich in detail!
