The Piko 23605 is a high quality designed n-coach in 1st/2nd class design for the Maas-Wupper-Express of the GfF in Era VI. This 1:87 scale model is a harmonious representation of a classic of German local transport, as it is still used by private railroad companies today.

The n-cars - known to many model railroaders as "Silberlinge" - were often operated by private companies after they were taken out of service by the DB. The Maas-Wupper-Express, run by the Gesellschaft für Fahrzeugtechnik (GfF), is an example of this successful reuse. The car shown here in the mixed class configuration brings visual variety and realistic operation to modern layouts with a regional transport connection.

Attention to detail & appearance

The model impresses with its harmonious proportions, fine engravings and sculpted bogies, which look particularly realistic thanks to the high-quality PIKO mold construction. The color scheme, lettering and logo of the Maas-Wupper-Express correspond exactly to the prototype - ideal for detailed train compositions.

Technology & running characteristics

With a length over buffers of 303 mm and a minimum radius of 358 mm, the wagon is perfect for regular operation on H0 layouts. The NEM shafts with close coupler link enable reliable couplings and close wagon transitions - also in combination with other n-wagons or driving trailers. The excellent rolling characteristics ensure smooth operation, even in long trains.

Interior & retrofitting

The wagon is not prepared for interior lighting at the factory. It can be retrofitted with appropriate accessories on request. Nevertheless, the clear windows provide a good view of the interior with an implied class separation.

Can be converted for AC drivers

For use on AC systems, the model is compatible with AC exchange wheel sets (PIKO #56060) - for maximum flexibility in operation.
