The Piko 24555 is a type G02 boxcar in the special design for the transportation of seeds on behalf of the VEG Saatzucht Zierpflanzen Erfurt. The model is assigned to Era III of the German State Railroad (DR) and represents an attractive combination of agricultural use and railroad freight traffic of the early GDR era.
The wagon bears the historical logo of the state-owned estate and is therefore not only a visual highlight but also of historical interest. The fine engravings, extra handles and steps as well as the excellent rolling characteristics make this freight wagon a valuable addition for all DR collectors and company railroaders of the 1950s and 60s.
The wooden board structure of the wagon is finely engraved, the printing is razor-sharp and prototypical. The eye-catching VEG advertising logo is an authentic detail from GDR economic history and ensures a realistic appearance in the area of agricultural freight trains.
The model measures 105 mm in length over buffers and runs smoothly on all H0 layouts with a minimum radius of 358 mm. The finely mounted wheelsets enable very smooth running. For AC railroaders, the wheelset can be replaced with AC wheelsets (item no. 56060).
The Piko 24555 Covered Goods Wagon G02 VEG Saatgut Erfurt is supplied fully assembled in a DC version - ready for immediate use for Era III train sets or as a collector's item with a historical reference.
Create a visual and thematic highlight on your model railroad - with the VEG Saatgut Erfurt boxcar from PIKO. Historic, detailed and operational!
