PIKO 24565 - H0 Refrigerated car Ex "Beer", FS-MAV, Era III

The Piko 24565 shows a typical Ex refrigerator car, originally from the Italian State Railways (FS), taken over and used by the MAV (Magyar Államvasutak) in Era III. This charming model is an eye-catcher on every historic H0 freight train layout, especially as a beer transport car.

With fine engravings, harmonious proportions and an authentic paint scheme, the wagon brings the cross-border refrigerated freight traffic of the 1950s and 60s realistically to the model tracks. The "beer" lettering refers to a typical use for temperature-sensitive goods.

Historic & functional

As a refrigerated wagon with an international past, this model documents the lively exchange of vehicles within Europe after the Second World War. The former FS wagon in MAV service is an example of functional wagon stock in the Eastern Bloc, adapted to national requirements - in this case specifically for transporting beer.

Technical realization

The wagon has a length over buffers of 109 mm and is designed for a minimum radius of 358 mm. Thanks to the NEM shaft with close coupler link, it runs reliably in long freight trains and can be easily combined with other MAV or FS wagons.
