The Piko "pibi Gas" pressurized gas tank car brings a typical hazardous goods transport vehicle of the 1970s to your H0 layout. As a model of the Italian state railroad FS for Era IV, it represents an indispensable link in international tank car traffic - now implemented with the finest details and perfect running characteristics.

Design & technology - true to the original in every detail

The tank wagon has a brakeman's platform, free-standing mounted add-on parts such as lines and handles as well as detailed bogies. The elaborate paintwork and the inscriptions of the fictitious operator "pibi Gas" give the model an authentic look. Thanks to its excellent running characteristics, the wagon is ideal for regular layout operation - even in larger train formations.

Prototype: FS tank car - transportation of hazardous goods in Era IV

In the 1960s and 70s, pressurized gas tank cars characterized the image of many industrial and connecting stations. The FS used such vehicles for the transportation of liquid gas and other chemical products. Models such as the "pibi Gas" wagon are emblematic of the diversity in international tank wagon transport at that time.

Compatibility & system operation

The wagon is suitable for H0 DC layouts with a minimum radius of 358 mm. It is equipped with an NEM shaft and close coupler link and can also be operated on AC systems using AC interchangeable wheel sets (item no. 56060).
