The Piko RLF low side w agon brings a typical vehicle for track construction and construction site traffic to your H0 layout. In Era IV design, loaded with concrete sleepers, this robust wagon fits perfectly into realistic construction and maintenance trains - an ideal addition for operating and shunting scenarios of the 1970s.

Detailing & equipment - compact and true to the original

The model has detailed replica side walls and is equipped with excellent rolling characteristics for smooth operation. The compact design with a length of 131 mm also makes the wagon ideal for industrial facilities or small shunting yards. The load of concrete ties is realistically depicted and permanently mounted.

Prototype: Low-sided car in track construction use

In Era IV, low side cars were an indispensable part of material trains for track construction. The simple, flat design made it possible to load sleepers, rails or tools - often from the side using a crane. Such wagons were used by many railroad companies such as RLF (Rail Logistik Frankfurt).

Model operation & compatibility

The wagon is suitable for all H0 DC layouts with a minimum radius of 358 mm. Thanks to the NEM shaft with close coupler link, it can be reliably combined with other cars. It can also be converted for Märklin layouts using AC interchangeable wheel sets (item no. 56060).
