The Piko Halberstadt center entrance control car with Wittenberg head is the perfect model for authentic Deutsche Bahn AG push-pull trains in Era V. These driving trailers were converted from classic DR mid-entry cars and characterized regional traffic throughout Germany until well into the 2000s - especially in the new federal states.
The model features a detailed interior, finely reproduced doors and free-standing steps, grab rails and windshield wipers. Interior lighting can be retrofitted (matching set available separately). With a running length of 303 mm, the cab control car is an ideal match for the center entrance cars of the same series.
In order to make push-pull train operation more efficient, many Halberstadt cars were equipped with a new head piece - the so-called Wittenberg head. Together with the BR 143, BR 112 or BR 218, these driving trailers formed the backbone of local transport in Era V and were mainly used on regional services in the east and center.
The car is designed for DC systems with a minimum radius of 358 mm. It has an NEM shaft with close coupler link and can therefore be ideally combined with other Piko mid-entry cars or matching DB regional locomotives.
Ideal for model railroaders who want to depict realistic push-pull train scenarios of the 1990s and early 2000s. Also a must for collectors of modern conversions from the DR era and fans of DB regional transport.
