The Piko Halberstadt center entry control car with Wittenberg head appears here in the AC version for AC systems in the modern design of the Mitteldeutsche Regiobahn (MRB) under the operator TRI - Train Rental GmbH. As a modern push-pull train car in Era VI, this model is a perfect fit for realistic regional rail transportation scenarios in eastern Germany.

Detailing & function - AC-compatible with clear model quality

The model impresses with its detailed interior, finely reproduced doors and free-standing steps, grab rails and windshield wipers. Interior lighting can be retrofitted and makes the control car glow even in the dark. Thanks to the NEM shaft and close coupler link, the model is fully compatible with Märklin car trains.

After being taken out of service at DB AG, many Halberstadt cab control cars were modernized and sold to private operators such as TRI. These wagons are still in use today, including on the Mitteldeutsche Regiobahn (MRB). Combined with class 218 diesel locomotives or older electric locomotives, they form typical rental trains for modern regional rail transport.

Model operation & compatibility

The control car is suitable for AC systems (Märklin system) and runs reliably from a minimum radius of 358 mm. Thanks to the standardized coupler pocket, it can be easily combined with Halberstadt passenger cars or PIKO conversion cars.
