With the Piko set of 3 yl carriages with driving trailer you can bring the authentic German Federal Railroad atmosphere of Era III to your H0 layout. The set contains three typical passenger coaches in the classic DB yl coach design - including a rare BDyg driving trailer, a mixed class coach (1st/2nd class) and a pure 2nd class coach. Ideal for branch lines and regional trains of the 1960s.

Detailed realization in the model

The cars are impressive with their fine detailing, true-to-original paint scheme and clear passenger compartment furnishings. The cab control car is equipped with a driver's cab and end-of-train signaling. Interior lightingcan be retrofitted for all cars, which makes for atmospheric scenes, especially in twilight operation.

yl coaches - a classic of the German Federal Railroad

The "yl" wagons were typical DB conversion wagons, created from older wagon bodies and modern bogies - cost-effective and robust. They shaped regional transport in Germany for decades. The combination with driving trailers in particular enabled reversible operation on single-track branch lines - without having to change locomotives.

Compatibility & Combinations

The set is designed for direct current operation and runs reliably on a minimum radius of 358 mm. The NEM shaft with close coupler link makes close coupling of the cars possible without any problems. Suitable exchange wheel sets (item no. 56060) are available for changing to AC operation.
