The legendary BR 221 (V 200.1) of the German Federal Railroad is back - as a high-quality sound model for the garden railroad (G scale). The PIKO 37463 diesel locomotive appears in the classic blue/beige paint scheme of Era IV and impresses with extensive digital functions, realistic steam effects and the finest detailing.
A PIKO PSD XP sound decoder is installed at the factory, which can be used to digitally switch numerous sound and light functions such as driver's cab, engine room and running gear lighting. The red/white light changes depending on the direction of travel. In addition, two pulsed vaporizers - in the area of the exhaust outlets and the boiler - ensure impressive smoke development, just like the prototype.
The model offers openable doors and windows in the driver's cab as well as excellent power consumption thanks to precisely manufactured wheel tires. The length over buffers is 696 mm, the locomotive can be used on a minimum radius of 600 mm - perfect for all garden railway layouts.
The class 221 was designed for heavy passenger and freight trains and was used on many DB main lines. This model is therefore ideal for realistic Federal Railroad train compositions of the 1970s and 1980s.
