Are you looking for a modern hybrid locomotive for your G-gauge layout that realistically depicts today’s freight traffic and flexible operations on the “last mile”? The Piko 37472 DB AG BR 249 Dual Mode brings a contemporary Era VI locomotive to your garden railway.
The prototype, also known as the Vectron Dual Mode light, was developed by Siemens specifically for DB Cargo’s freight operations. The locomotive combines the advantages of an electric locomotive with those of a diesel locomotive and can switch flexibly between the two propulsion modes.
Thanks to its flexible operation, there is no need to change locomotives for the so-called “last mile.” The series is primarily designed for local and single-car transport, and production takes place at the Siemens plant in Munich-Allach.
The model features the lightweight version of the BR 249 and impresses with numerous added details. Doors that open, attached windshield wipers, antennas for shunting radio, and a cab with a sunshade create a particularly lifelike model.
Cab lighting and engine room lighting are already available in analog mode. For even more functionality, a digital decoder can be easily retrofitted; sound can also be added using the compatible PIKO Sound Decoder #36547.
Get the Piko 37472 G Hybrid Locomotive BR 249 Dual Mode DBAG and expand your G-gauge layout with a modern locomotive for freight transport, shunting, and flexible operations in Era VI.
