Are you looking for a special G-gauge freight car that captures a historical theme from the early postwar period? The Piko 37977 covered freight car FDJ of the Deutsche Reichsbahn commemorates the special trains that carried passengers to the first FDJ Germany-wide gathering in East Berlin during Pentecost 1950.
Since there weren’t enough passenger cars available at the time, the Deutsche Reichsbahn used freight cars that had been provisionally converted. The model captures this extraordinary prototype with the authentic inscription “(-DR) UdSSR-Zone” and is modeled after its appearance at the time.
The wood-grain side walls, the crisply contoured printing, and the design featuring a brakeman’s platform ensure a harmonious representation. The opening door is particularly appealing, offering additional play and design possibilities for the car.
Thanks to its robust construction, the car is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. This makes it an ideal fit for garden rail layouts, historic DR train formations, and themed collections from Era III.
With excellent running characteristics, a minimum curve radius of 600 mm, and a length over buffers of 350 mm, the car can be reliably integrated into existing G-gauge train formations.
Get the Piko 37977 G FDJ covered freight car and add a striking model with special historical significance to your DR collection.
