The printed version of the DB AG 2nd class passenger car in the mint green paint scheme of Era V. Railroad fans refer to a family of Deutsche Bundesbahn commuter coaches as "Silberling". The vehicles owe their name "Silberlinge" to their stainless steel body. Over 5,000 of them were built between 1961 and 1980 and were used by DB Regio until the beginning of 2020. The wagons are also often referred to as n-wagons after their secondary class designation. With the n-wagons, PIKO has included a vehicle type in its range that should practically not be missing on any model railroad whose theme is based on the Bundesbahn or DB AG. As with the prototype, the models also differ in window layout and interior design depending on the car class, and the dimensions have been converted to prototypical N scale. Mold construction at the highest level ensures extremely vivid-looking bogies and the high-quality paintwork and printing that PIKO is known for gives the vehicles an outstanding finish. The vehicles are ideally prepared for the uncomplicated retrofitting of interior lighting.
