With the PIKO model 40860, a true classic of modern regional transportation in N scale comes to the model railway layout: the Stadler Regio-Shuttle RS 1 in the Deutsche Bahn AG version. In service as the 650 series, this diesel railcar still characterizes local rail passenger transport in numerous regions of Germany. The striking design with trapezoidal window strips has been perfectly implemented in the model - a highlight for all fans of modern Era VI vehicles.

Technically and visually up to date

The model impresses with a multitude of intricate details: fine bogies, extra windshield wipers, heating plugs and coupling hooks as well as a realistic buffer beam with deep entry. Particularly noteworthy is the factory-fitted interior lighting, which can even be switched separately in digital mode. The light changes in red and white depending on the direction of travel using modern LED technology.

The Regio-Shuttle - a vehicle with history

Development of the RS 1 began back in 1994, and since then this railcar has become a symbol of efficient, flexible regional transport. Over 450 vehicles have been built, including 79 railcars that have been used by DB ZugBus Regionalverkehr Alb-Bodensee (RAB) since 1999.
