The model of the class 93 takes into account all the specific features of the DR prototype locomotive in Era IV. The PIKO steam locomotive impresses with its successful mold construction, sharp engravings and numerous separately applied parts as well as excellent driving characteristics. The model has a modern Next18 interface for the uncomplicated retrofitting of a digital or sound decoder.
Prussia was always striving for rationalization, so that in the late 1910s, proven design principles were used for the construction of a new tender locomotive. Parts of the drive and running gear were taken over from the tried and tested G8.1 with a few modifications. The new locomotives were incorporated as the T14 series. A total of 457 units were built for the Prussian State Railroad. Subsequently, the Imperial Railways in Alsace-Lorraine also ordered 40 locomotives of this type. After the Second World War, the class 93.0-4 was scattered across Europe. Freshly repaired, they were used again in Poland, Belgium and Austria as well as in divided Germany. The DB used its locomotives until 1960, with the Limburg depot and the lines between Lahn, Dill and Sieg being their last refuge. The DR continued to use the locomotives until 1971, where they were mainly used in and around Berlin in front of freight trains.
The model has TT close couplers!
