Description

PIKO 47150 TT - DR steam locomotive BR 91.3, era III

With the PIKO 47150 steam locomotive BR 91.3, a real workhorse of German railroad history returns to the model railway layout - now in the precise TT version. The locomotive is based on the legendary Prussian T 9.3, one of the most frequently built tank locomotives in Germany, which set standards in both passenger and freight train service. Its authentic design, its robust technology and its versatility make it an indispensable classic for all Era III enthusiasts.

Technically mature - realized in great detail

The model is equipped with a DR driver's cab and DRG lamps and perfectly reproduces the characteristic appearance of the 91.3. The highlights include a coal box attachment, filigree spoked wheels, finely crafted linkage and numerous separately attached components such as hand poles, whistle, bell and wind deflector. The detailed lines, sand pipes and hand wheels are particularly impressive and give the model an extraordinary sense of depth.

Prepared for digital operation

The BR 91.3 is prepared for the installation of a digital decoder with an NEM 662 Next18 interface. In digital operation, the cab lighting can be switched separately and thus ensures an atmospheric display in model railroad operation. The light changes in white and red depending on the direction of travel using modern LED technology. Two traction tires ensure reliable power transmission to the tracks.

Historical model with great significance

The T 9.3 was put into service by the Prussian State Railroad in 1901 and became extremely popular with over 2,000 units built. After being taken over by the Deutsche Reichsbahn in 1925, it was redesignated the BR 91. It was in service until the 1960s and 70s, even beyond Germany's borders - a symbol of Prussian engineering that is now making history again in the finest TT conversion.
