With the newly designed PIKO BR 83.10 of the DR, there is now for the first time an operational large series model of this extraordinary locomotive type. In keeping with the special features of the prototype, the finely detailed PIKO model can also present itself as an outstanding locomotive. The striking locomotive in three-domed design with three-light peak signal convinces with the outstandingly successful realization of the prototype proportions and comes up with a large number of extra parts, including many fine lines, wind deflectors, bell, whistle, lids on the water boxes, alternator, steps to the buffer beam, ladders, handrails, heating lines and sand pipes. The fine spoked wheels, the filigree controls and the detailed cab interior make the locomotive an additional eye-catcher on the layout. The PIKO BR 83.10 is also technically up to date and has driver's cab lighting, running gear lighting, LED headlights and the option of equipping the locomotive with a smoke set. The powerful motor in combination with 2 built-in traction tires provides sufficient tractive effort for all prototypical train compositions. The installation of a digital decoder and retrofitting with sound is possible without any problems. The center conductor versions of the model are factory-equipped with mfx®-compatible digital decoders. The sound locomotives also have a smoke set at the factory. Brake hoses, draw hooks and long protective tubes are included with the model.
