Design & workmanship

The tender locomotive has a powerful drive with flywheel mass for excellent running characteristics. A retrofittable steam function (item 56163) provides additional authenticity in operation. The light changes depending on the direction of travel using long-life LEDs.

Historical background

Between 1930 and 1938, 298 class 03 standard express locomotives were built for the Deutsche Reichsbahn. After the Second World War, 36 locomotives were transferred to PKP, where they were operated as the Pm2 series. The elegant "Pacific" steam locomotives were designed for lines with a maximum axle load of 18 tons and were considered to be particularly powerful and fast - today they are a legend in European railroad history.
