The PIKO 50694 H0 steam locomotive BR 03 is a detailed replica of the legendary express locomotive of the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft (DRG) from Era II. With the highest precision and the latest technology, this model offers an impressive driving experience and impresses with numerous intricate details and extensive digital functions.
A total of 298 units of the 03 class were built between 1930 and 1938. Compared to the 01 series, it was characterized by a lower wheelset weight, which allowed it to be used on lines with an axle load limit of 18 tons. From road number 163 onwards, the bogies were fitted with 1000 mm wheels instead of the 850 mm originally installed.

The locomotives were completely decommissioned by the end of the 1970s. Today, 9 examples are still preserved, of which 1 locomotive is operational and 6 have been refurbished for museums.
