The Piko H0 steam locomotive Rh 691 of the ÖBB is a rare but striking variant of the Prussian T 9.3 - specially built for the Austrian Federal Railroad. After the Second World War, only six locomotives remained in Austria, of which only two were taken over into the ÖBB fleet. Locomotives 91 1207 and 91 1347 were given a new home in the St. Pölten area under the class designation Rh 691 - now realized as the new 2025 model in H0 scale.
This locomotive has a typical ÖBB driver's cab, a coal box attachment and the striking disk leading wheel set. Many free-standing lines, true-to-original lamps and die-cast zinc wheels round off the high-quality appearance. The detailed interior and the finely crafted linkage also make the model particularly attractive for showcase enthusiasts.
Only two examples of the former T 9.3 were actively used in Austria. Both locomotives were used in the St. Pölten area until 1957. Despite their short period of service, they are a fascinating chapter in the history of the ÖBB - and an absolute eye-catcher for model railroaders with a penchant for rarities.
The model has an NEM 658 PluX16 interface for easy digitalization. Retrofitting for sound and lighting (incl. firebox flickering) is possible without any problems. The white/white light change depending on the direction of travel ensures harmonious driving dynamics in operation.
Ideal for fans of Austria, collectors of rare classes and model railroaders with a focus on historic regional transport. A locomotive with recognition value and great rarity in the prototype - now available as a model!
